An interesting initiation meeting of the Aldershot Army & Navy Lodge No. 1971 last Thursday the 22nd February; accompanied as always with a fair degree of military precision as well as good humour. The WM, W Bro Major Chris Reay ex The Rifles, initiated a fellow ex Rifles warrant officer, Paul Price. Paul is now an insurance assessor based in London, attracted to our Lodge because of its military ethos, camaraderie and emphasis on fun.
A special guest, good friend and neighbour of Bro Paul’s, W Bro Jim McGregor of the Blackridge Lodge No1145 Linlithgow of the Scottish Constitution came to support Bro Paul at the start of his Masonic Journey. W Bro Jim evoked some interest with his different regalia and signs. He also presented the WM Chris Reay with a very professionally printed hundred-year history of his Scottish “Coalminers” Lodge along with a Lodge “Penny”.
Also present to support W Bro Charles McGeoch at his election as WM-elect, was his father W Bro David McGeoch, also a PM of Charles’s Mother Lodge, Union of Malta. The installation is scheduled for Thursday, 25th April our next meeting; this will also include a DOUBLE initiation post installation. No pressure then for the new team! W Bro Charles’s installation will be led by his father– a real family affair. An interesting evening is promised and we extend a warm and open invitation to all those wishing to join us.
