We are a Hampshire & Isle of Wight Freemasonry Lodge of around 50 members.

  • We meet five times a year on the fourth, Thursdays in February, April (Installation), June & October and second Thursday in December.

  • Our Meetings are held in the Farnborough Masonic Centre.

  • Our Lodge attracts serving and retired Servicemen from Navy, Army and Air Force, the Emergency Services and civilians in the Aldershot and North Hampshire Area who subscribe to the Lodge’s military ethos.

What we as a military Freemasonry Lodge aim for:

To attract those Freemasons of a military background  or civilians who subscribe to a military ethos, to enable them to develop into more thoughtful and confident people. To inspire and challenge them to practice in their private and public lives the core masonic values we celebrate, which are:

INTEGRITY
Freemasons today focus on building themselves as people of integrity, and membership provides the structure to help achieve that goal.

FRIENDSHIP
Freemasonry is not defined by an ideology. It is open to people from all religions and political persuasions and provides the common foundation for friendships between members, many of which will last for life.

RESPECT
Freemasonry brings people together irrespective of their race, religion or any other perceived differences that can divide us as a society.

SERVICE
Whether participating in events, fundraising for a charitable cause or volunteering for public or community organisations, service is at the very heart of Freemasonry. Our members make valuable contributions by donating time, resources and skills.

What is Freemasonry?

Freemasonry is a unique journey for everyone involved, offering a mix of friendship, charity, and the pursuit of self-knowledge. It's one of the oldest and largest fraternal organisations worldwide, open to all men of good repute. Through ceremonial progression, members explore moral lessons and self-improvement, fostering a community that values openness and high ethical standards.

As a non-religious, non-political entity, Freemasonry stands out for its commitment to social welfare and personal growth, making it a rewarding hobby for many and a meaningful way to contribute to society for others.

What happens at a Lodge meeting?

A typical Lodge meeting consists of:

Ceremony

Freemason ceremonies, held in the Lodge Room, unfold through a series of dramatised plays. These rituals, steeped in tradition, are designed to impart moral teachings and ethical lessons to members. Each ceremony is a blend of symbolism and allegory, guiding Freemasons on a path of personal development and moral integrity.

Admin

Part of lodge meetings are dedicated to administrative procedures, crucial for the lodge's health and growth. This includes the nomination and balloting of potential new members, a process ensuring that the fraternity's values are upheld by its expanding membership. Additionally, updates on charitable initiatives are shared, reflecting Freemasonry's deep commitment to community support and philanthropy. This segment lays the groundwork for a well-organised and purpose-driven organisation.

Festive Board
The 'Festive Board' marks the convivial conclusion of Freemason gatherings, featuring a multi-course dinner enlivened by speeches and lighthearted merriment. It's a time-honored tradition that strengthens bonds among members through shared joy and fraternity.
